Knit Television

One of the first items I ever knit from the Knitting Mochimochi book was the television.  How could I not knit a television?  It's a television!  It's knit!  It's awesome!

Because I was a beginning knitter, I made a number of mistakes with this pattern, but since that time, I've learned from those mistakes and improved significantly.  Nonetheless, I still think this knit TV is still pretty cute.

Gnome in the City

While I specialize in tiny adorable knit things, once in a while I'll tackle a larger project, especially from the "Knitting Mochimochi" book.  These projects take significantly longer than the tiny mochimochis, but they're well worth the effort.

Below I have a few pictures of the city I knit using a pattern from Knitting Mochimochi.  The entire pattern was quite straight-forward, yet the most time-consuming part was the asphalt portion - lots and lots of rows of gray.  The buildings were fun, though, and putting eyes on each of them gave them all the adorable touch so characteristic of Anna Hrachovec's patterns.

You might also notice that the tiny gnome found his way to the big city, as did the tiny caveman.  It's a melting pot.

Tiny Gnome

Probably one of the most-knit patterns from Mochimochi Land is the tiny gnome, at least based on all the photos on Flickr (see this one!).  And with good reason - the knit gnome is adorable.  I've made a couple, one of which is living with my dear mother, but I've never added any images of my gnomes.  Below are a ew pictures that I've taken of this little guy, but there are certainly more to come - this little gnome enjoys working on his little knit computer, exploring the knit city, and chopping down trees in the knit forest.  More to come in the future...

Happy Knit-Recipients

In my two previous posts, I mentioned that I had knit some things for other people and sent them off.  Now that they've received their tiny things, I've gotten a few pictures back:

Ashleigh's Dino and Pear:

Kylie's Pups (with her adorable real-life tiny dog):

Nona's Airplane (named Artichoke Blue):

Thanks to them for showing me that these tiny guys made it to their destinations safe and sounds.

I've added an "About & Contact" section above if anyone is interested in knit things as well.  I can accomodate most requests with my own creations!

Another Knit Puppy

On a roll - first my blue dog and now this little guy.  I decided to branch out and try to make something of my own, instead of using a pattern from someone else.  After having knit so many small toys, it wasn't too hard to figure out how to get the shape and proportions right for a small dog.  Knitting up the attachments and putting the final piece together was similarly easy.  So I present my first original mochimochi - a tiny green dog!

Mini Blue Puppy

A quick project I whipped up while jet-lagged and half-asleep:  a blue puppy!  This is for a distant friend that special-requested a dachshund, and while I admit that dachshunds are not really blue, I still think it's pretty cute.  Plus, I'll be making more in additional colors, including the "traditional" dachshund colors.

This pattern comes courtesy of the Mochimochi Land Store.  More great stuff over there to buy and knit!

I have an excuse for not updating lately - I just came back from a wonderful vacation to a land far, far away. Now that it's over, summer has begun and I have more time on my hands to knit and update this blog.

Some more pictures of the blue puppy below!
